제목 Synthesis and Characterization of New Materials for OLED
초록 In the application of an organic electroluminescent device (OLED) to a flat panel display, the importance of full color capability for its competitiveness with other display technologies has been increasing. Several approaches have been proposed for full color organic displays: creating patterened RGB (red-green-blue) subpixels by means of precise shadow masking,1 the conversion of blue emission by means of fluorescent dyes (CCM method),2 combining white emission combined with color filters, and using stacked RGB cells.3 Compared with green emitting devices, the EL characteristics of blue and red emitting ones have to be improved particularly in terms of efficiency and color purity for full color application. It is much more difficult to produce a blue emission due to its intrinsic characteristic of having a wide band gap irrespective of the type of materials.
