The biodegradable microcapsules, consisting of hydrophobic poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) and hydrophilic poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) and containing model drug, were prepared by an oil-in-water emulsion solvent evaporation method. The compositions of PCL/PEO shell were 100:0, 90:10, 70: 30, and 50:50 by weight, respectively. Scanning electron microscopy was used to study the morphology of biodegradable microcapsules. The release behavior of model drug from the microcapsules was studied by UVVis spectroscopy. The release rate of model drug from the microcapsules was significantly increased with increasing the content of PEO. |
