Enhanced thermoelectric performance of silver decorated nanocarbon composites |

Most of thermoelectric devices being used today are made of inorganic materials such as Bismuth and Tellurium. However, they are costly and have low processability. To solve these problems, there is an active research in progress on organic thermoelectric material. In this study, we have investigated how to decorate Ag using a solid exfoliation method. Functionalized graphene nanoplatelet (f-GNP) was prepared by using a solid exfoliation method and silver nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) were acquired by reduction of silver nitrate. Also, compared to pristine GNP, we have demonstrated that calculated power factor of nanocarbon composite was improved due to Ag-NPs formed by reduction method. Beside the metal, we can expect that the improvement of thermoelectric performance via semiconductor decoration will be made. |
