Polymer solar cells for the fabrication of cost-efficient and flexible power sources have undergone considerable development. Among the various systems, P3HT and PCBM networks have shown the highest efficiency; however, further improvement in efficiency is required for commercial applications. In addition, the current state-of-the-art cells are typically fabricated on rigid glass with ITO, and, as a result, do make a limitation for low-cost photovoltaic energy conversion due to the ever-increasing cost of indium. In this respect, we tried to achieve ITO-free OSCs with same efficiency with ITO-based OSCs. In addition, we have also focused on fundamental analysis such as changes of the conductivity and morphology with increasing additives and temperature. Here, we describe an optimized ITO-free organic solar cell through investigating the fundamental analysis of PEDOT anodes and controlling various conditions of PEDOT anodes such as transmittance, sheet resistance, and work-function. |
