A light emitting polymer, poly(1-aniline-2,4-pentanedione-acetylacetone)-co-N-(2-ethylhexyl)-3,6-dibromo-carbazole) has been synthesized by palladium-catalyzed polycondensation reaction. In the polymer, ethylhexyl segments, carbazole units and aniline units make the polymer soluble in common organic solvents, emit blue emission and exhibit good hole-transporting properties. The polymer exhibited relatively high molecular weight and thermal stability. Optical properties of the polymer also have been performed such as UV-Vis absorption, PL, and EL. In order to increase the efficiency of PLED, we synthesized another new light emitting polymer, poly(Ir(ppy)2(1-aniline-2,4-pentanedione-acetylacetone)-co-N-(2-ethylhexyl)-3,6-dibromo-carbazole), containing iridium (III) complex as the side group by metallization reactions, and studied the energy transfer to Ir complex. |
