제목 Process design of hydrogen storage with liquid organic hydrogen carrier (LOHC) and its techno-economic and life-cycle assessment
초록 Forthe efficient hydrogen transport, we developed the integrated process includinghydrogenation and dehydrogenation of liquid organic hydrogen carrier (LOHC).Among them, toluene (TOL)-methylcyclohexane (MCH) system is used due to theadvantages suitable for LOHC such as relatively high hydrogen storage capacityand liquid at ambient temperatures. To reduce required energy utilities, heat integrationwas implemented. A techno-economic analysis (TEA) was conducted to figure outthe minimum transport cost (MTC). A sensitivity analysis shows cost volatilitydue to changes in parameters, and an uncertainty analysis was implemented toshow the cost stability in a more stochastic method. Lastly, we performed thesectional and material life-cycle assessment to investigate the environmentalimpacts, and figured out the change of environmental impacts depending on theenergy source. These analyses would provide guidance of technology developmentto revitalize the hydrogen economy.
