Improvement of plasma protein adsorption of Poly (methyl methacrylate) Intraocular Lenses with Hydrophilic Monomers on Plasma Protein Adsorption. |
초록 |
The aim of this study is to verify the effect of hydrophilic surface modification of poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) intraocular lenses (IOLs) on plasma proteins. Surface modified PMMA IOLs with acrylic acid and acrylamide were prepared via plasma-induce graft polymerization, and plasma proteins bound to the prepared surfaces were analyzed by one- and two- dimensional gel electrophoresis together with western blot analyses. Changes in complement components due to the contact of prepared IOLs were also studied by using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. PMMA-g-AAc and PMMA-g-AAm IOLs exhibited that plasma protein bound were more than that of PMMA. And western blot and two dimensional electrophoresis results showed that albumin was the most abundant protein in all the samples. The proportion of adsorbed fibrinogen, Ig G, and transferrin to PMMA-g-AAc IOLs exhibited the lowest. PMMA-g-AAc and PMMA-g-AAm activated complement components to a lesser extent than did PMMA. These results indicated that these surface modifications may improve the plasma protein adsorption and complement activation. |
