Although graphene oxide (GO) is considered as one of fascinating materials due to its unique features such as anisotropic and amphiphilic structures in material science community, its fundamental properties have been remained unsolved problems, including exact chemical structure, structural and thermal stability and external stimuli sensitivity. Therefore many studies have tried to understand and identify its fundamental material properties. Here we report the controlling of graphitic regions for improving electrical properties of GO via the systematic approaches to change hydrothermal conditions, such as thermal temperature and time. Due to its metastable properties, oxygen functional groups in GO can be diffused on the basal plane and changed from epoxy group to hydroxyl group without defects. Additionally, the electrical properties such as sheet resistance and conductivity would be controlled by tuning the graphitic regions of GO sheets without any hazard chemical agents. |
