제목 Preparation and characterization of poly(urea-formaldehyde) microcapsules filled with photoreactive healing agents
초록 The preparation of microcapsules for application in the fabrication of self-healing composites has been paid more attention. The microcapsules must possess sufficient strength to remain intact during processing of the host polymer, yet rupture when the polymer is damaged. High bond strength to the host polymer combined with a moderate strength microcapsule shell are required. A series of microcapsules were prepared by in situ polymerization method with poly(urea-formaldehyde) as a shell material and cinnamate-containing compounds as core materials. The chemical structure of microcapsule was characterized using infrared spectroscopy. The size, size distribution, morphology, and wall thickness were controlled by processing parameters such as agitation rate and core-shell ratio, and they were characterized by optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
