제목 Enhanced Chain Orientation of Conducting Polymer Nanorods Fabricated from Confined Nanoporous Templates
초록 Ultrahigh density arrays of conducting polypyrrole (PPy) nanorods are fabricated directly on the ITO glass by an electropolymerization within a porous diblock copolymer template. It is well known that when polymer chains are confined into nanosized holes, they are highly aligned along the nanorod axis. Also, the conductivity of the conducting polymers depends strongly on the alignment of the polymer chains. The PPy nanorods are shown to have conductivity much higher than continuous films, due to the high degree of chain orientation, even though the distance for two neighboring PPy main chains is as small as 0.37 nm. To determine the orientation of PPy chain, we employed the grazing incidence X-ray diffraction (GIXD) experiment in beamline 5A of Pohang Light Source. We obtained in-plane X-ray diffraction profile and azimutal angle dependence of X-ray diffraction at 2Θ= 23.8o. In this result, we confirmed that PPy chains are oriented perfectly along the nanorod axis.
