Understanding of colloidal fouling behavior at sharkskin-mimetic patterned surfaces via in-situ microscopic monitoring and Lattice-Boltzmann simulations |
초록 |
I will present a new characterization approach to identify the colloidal fouling behavior on the Sharklet patterns with different pattern spacings (1.5, 2 and 6 µm). In-situ microscopic monitoring and Lattice-Boltzmann (LB) simulations revealed that the pattern spacing differentiated the degree and location of deposition of PS particles (0.9 µm diameter) on the Sharklet-patterned surface. We also found that the distribution of the deposited particles observed by microscopy is strongly correlated with that of the local hydrodynamic force evaluated by the LB method. The current approach can provide a reliable and useful platform for the design of surface structures with antifouling and self-cleaning functions. |
