The Effect of Topographic Pattern On Surface Micelles Formation of Poly(styrene-block-4-hydroxystyrene) Copolymer |

We have investigated the formation of surface micelles of a poly(styrene-block-4-hydroxystyrene) (PS-b-PHOST) copolymer dip-coated on topographic prepattern substrates. The size and density of surface micelles strongly depends on the dimensions of the prepatterns. We observed ordered surface micelles in a row along the crest of line pattern under the critical crest width. Also, the pattern boundary of crest and trench differently affect on kinetics of the micelle formation: the edge of crest give rise to repulsive force to micelle formation, which makes locate surface micelles in the center of crests. On the other hand, the edge of trench acts as the nucleation center of surface micelles. |
