The development of methods to activate and use CO2 to prepare chemicals and materials is an attractive research goal. The use of Zn/Co prussian blue analogues have proven to be the effective catalyst for these processes. Herein, we report on aspects of the terpolymerization of alicyclic epoxides with CO2, in the presence of a double metal cyanide catalyst system. The influence of the cyclohexene oxide/vinylcyclohexene oxide ratio on the yield, carbonate content, molecular weight is discussed. The resultant terpolymers are subjected to Fineman-Ross analysis, infrared spectroscopy and gel permeation chromatography. |
