Preparation of Synthetic Epoxy Using Epoxy Diglycidyl Ether Bisphenol A and Epichlorohydrin |

Epoxy belongs to a group of thermosetting polymers which are cured through a preservative reaction. The content of epoxide is expressed as weight in grams of epoxy resin containing one mole equivalent to epoxide (g/mol), to determine the concentration of preservative agents. This paper reviews epoxy synthesis to achieve varying properties with the selection and combination of epoxy for adhesive formulations. In this study we used epoxy diglycidyl ether bisphenol A and epichlorohydrin. Titration is to determine the nature of the epoxy resin. The value of "equivalent weight of epoxide" of 0.0572 was obtained. |
