Stimuli sensitivities of acidic polymers/MWCNTs nanocomposites |

poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)/poly(acrylic acid) (PAAc)/poly(styrene sulfonic acid) (PSSA)/multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) nanocomposite hydrogels were prepared by radical polymerization. Both PAAc and PSSA have the negatively charged groups and give highly acidic properties to the hydrogels. MWCNTs were employed to improve the electrical, thermal conductivity, and mechanical properties of polymers. The morphologies of hydrogels were investigated by scanning electron microscope. The mechanical properties were investigated by universal testing machine. Swelling properties of hydrogels were investigated in various situations. PVA/PAAc/PSSA/MWCNT nanocomposite hydrogels were suitable as the biomaterial which shows the reversible responding to external stimuli. |
