Effect of Desilylation on Optical and Electroluminiscence Properties of Poly(2-(3-Dimethyldodecylsilylphenyl)-1,4-Phenylenevinylene) |

A remarkable improvement in the device performance of polymer light-emitting diodes (PLEDs) has been achieved since the first electroluminescence (EL) prototype polymer was reported by Cambridge group in 1990. After a decade of developments, LEDs derived from π-conjugated polymers have now reached the stage of commercialization as small-sized flat-panel displays. This progress has been achieved through persistent efforts, both in the design of new polymeric EL materials and improvement in understanding the device physics. In this work, we report a new poly(2-phenyl-1,4-phenylenevinylene) polymer preparation from desilylation reaction on Poly(2-(3-dimethyldodecylsilylphenyl)-1,4-Phenylenevinylene) polymer, which was synthesized by Gilch polymerization. ITO/PEDOT:PSS/Emitting layer/Cathode configuration PLEDs were fabricated using LiF/Al and Alq3/LiF/Al cathode compositions and compared the PLEDs performance between the pristine and desilylated polymers. |
