For olefin/paraffin separation in facilitated olefin transport membrane, partially positively charged surface of silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) by electron acceptors such as p-benzoquinone and 7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane can result extremely high selectivity. Electron acceptors, inducing positive charge on the Ag NPs surface, play a vital role in determining the olefin carrier activity for facilitated olefin transport. In this study, surface positive charge on Ag NPs by 1,2-dinitrobenzene and 3,4 dinitrotoluene, representatives of nitroaromatic compounds, are explored, expecting high separation performance for propylene/propane mixtures. Moreover, the correlation between surface charge density of Ag NPs and separation performance will be investigated. |
