Banana-Shaped Compounds Containing Central Chloro Substituent and Perfluoroalkyl Terminal Group |
| 초록 |
Three bent-core compounds consisting of central chloro substituent (X/Y = H/H, H/Cl, Cl/Cl), perfluoroalkanes terminal chain and Schiff’s base linking group were synthesized and characterized. The molecular structures of compounds were identified by FT/IR- and 1H NMR-spectroscopy, and the results were in accordance with the expected molecular formula. The purity of compounds were confirmed by thin layer chromatography (TLC) and elemental analyses (EA). The properties of mesophases were characterized by a combination of polarizing optical microscopy (POM), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), x-ray diffraction and electro-optical measurements. Compound without substituent as well as with X/Y = H/Cl showed four transitions reversibly. Compound with X/Y = Cl/Cl showed four and three transitions on heating and cooling, respectively. |
