Organic materials are promising candidates for future molecular-scale memory application. Their attractive features include low price, flexibility, light weight, rapid writing and erasing of informations, good processability and miniaturized dimensions. Polyimide have attracted much attention as organic memory device in recent years due to their excellent thermal stability and mechanical properties. However almost fully aromatic polyimides are insoluble in most organic solvents, so they have limitations in their application to organic memory device. In this work, partially aliphatic polyimides containing anthracene moiety were prepared for organic memory device application. AnDA(2.6-anthracenediamine) was synthesized for adopting anthracene moiety in polyimide main chain because it was proved that anthracene has electrical bistability between metal electrodes. ODA was used as copolyimide monomer for decreasing rigidity which comes from rigid AnDA and DAn moiety. |
