Two blue thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) emitting materials, 5-(4-(4,6-diphenyl-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)phenyl)-5H-benzofuro[3,2-c]carbazole (pBFCzTrz) and 5-(4-(4,6-diphenyl-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)phenyl)-5H-benzo[4,5]thieno[3,2-c]carbazole (pBTCzTrz), were synthesized to investigate the atomic effect on TADF. pBFCzTrz and pBTCzTrz showed small singlet-triplet energy gaps of 0.3 eV which are enough to induce reverse intersystem crossing and high photoluminescence quantum yields of 81 and 85% under nitrogen atmosphere. Blue organic light-emitting diodes using pBFCzTrz and pBTCzTrz showed maximum quantum efficiencies of 16.7 and 16.5%, and color coordinates of (0.15, 0.18) and (0.15, 0.13), respectively. |
