Electrically conductive nanocomposites were prepared by in-situ polymerization of pyrrole in the matrix of polystyrene-b-poly(n-butyl methacrylate) [PS-PnBMA] copolymer which was synthesized by anionic polymerization technique. Pyrrole monomer in aqueous solution was located preferably at PnBMA domain. The PS-PnBMA film with the thickness of ~ 0.3mm was dipped into pyrrole/water solution, then dipped into again FeCl3/water solution. The amount of polypyrrole varies by changing dipping time and the concentration of pyrrole in pyrolle/water solution. The molecular characteristics of polypyrrole in the PS-PnBMA matrix were determined by using FT-IR and UV. Parallel and perpendicular conductivities of nanocomposites with different contents of polypyrrole were measured by a four-point and two-point porbe techniques, respectectively. The selective diffusion into PnBMA block in PS-PnBMA film morphology was confirmed by SEM and TEM. We aligned the micro domain of block copolymers by a large amplitude oscillatory shearing, and studied the conductivity by rheoloical method. Finally, we measured mechanical properties of the nanocomposites by using DSC and DMA. |
