Synthesis and application of vanadium pentoxide as hole-transport layer for Organic Photovoltaic Cells (OPVs) |

In this work, to investigate the optimization of synthesis conditions on the formation of vanadium pentoxide (V2O5) nanoparticles, we controlled the crystallinity via annealing treatment. Solution-processed V2O5 thin film was prepared as efficient hole-transport interlayer in inverted organic photovoltaic cells (OPVs). The crystalline phase could be obtained under calcination at 350 °C for 2 h. The performance of device fabricated with crystalline V2O5 was higher than that of cell fabricated with amorphous V2O5. The power conversion efficiency (PCE) of crystalline V2O5 is achieved for 55% compared to reference cell under 100 mW/cm2 at AM 1.5 G simulated solar emission. The prepared V2O5 thin film as hole-transport layer in OPVs could effectively reduce energy consumption, which would contribute to advantage such as lower manufacturing costs. |
