Magnetic nanoparticle (MNP) has been widely used as a biomarker research for separation and purification of proteins and DNA because of its rather low toxicity, high efficiency, and ease of manipulation. In this study, the particle surface was first modified with phosphate containing hydrophobic alkyl groups and second modification done with various polymer containing organic functional groups using hydrophobic interaction. Modified MNPs are characterized by fluorescence microscope, FT-IR and MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry for functional group identification and TEM for image of MNPs. |
