α-Al2O3 and β-Al2O3 are used as insulating and electrolyte materials in NaS battery. While the battery is operating, no emission is required on the bonding between α-Al2O3 and β-Al2O3. In order to enhance the bonding-strength, the surface-treatment by acids (HCl and H2SO4) are applied instead of the conventional plasma-treatment. We investigated the effect of acids on surface properties of β-Αl2O3 and the bonding-strength depending on the time of surface-treatment by acids. As a results, all acid-trestment can enhance the bondign-strengths. However in case of H2SO4, the bonding strength is decreased as increasing the treatment-time. Also, in case of HCl, the boding strength is increased as increasing the treatment-time. |
