In general, coagulant has been used to remove major particle in the waste water removal process. Some of presently using coagulant such as Alum and PAC are considered as toxic and good alternative is PSI (poly silicate iron) but, no commercial PSI is available and costs high. Here in, an attempt was made to synthesis PSI its application to waste water from municipal treatment plant. Based on the suitable ration of sodium silicate and sulfuric acid, the PSI coagulant was prepared with defined stable viscosity. The prepared coagulant was confirmed by zeta potential and particle analyzer. In application process, the turbidity, pH change, TOC and dosage concentration of PSI ware optimized for effective removal in waste water from municipal treatment plant and compared with the commercial coagulants. |
