제목 Synthesis and Characterization of High Flexible Acrylic Pressure Sensitive Adhesives (Acrylic PSAs) based on Ethylene Glycol Acrylates for Flexible Display Application
초록 Recently, as a flat type display is developed into a flexible type, OCA also requires various characteristics other than the role of fixing parts. However, Existing OCA exhibits low flexibility, causing various defects while deformation is applied to the display. To compensate for this defect, we synthesized acrylic PSAs by introducing 2-(2-ethoxyethoxy)ethyl acrylate (EEA), an ethylene glycol-based acrylate. Ethylene glycol acrylates exhibit excellent stability, biocompatibility, and high hydrophilicity, and exhibit very flexible properties by controlling the free-volume between chains by ethylene glycol groups. The synthesized acrylic PSAs based on EEA were compared with 2-ethylhexyl acrylate (EHA) and octyl acrylate (OA), which are representative soft acrylates, to evaluate the effect of the ethylene glycol group on the flexibility of the acrylic PSAs. In addition, the properties of the acrylic PSA based on EEA were optimized through the control of the synthesis conditions.
