Different length of arrayed polypyrrole (PPy) nanostructures were designed using an anodized aluminum oxide (AAO) template for a application of supercapacitor. Gold layer as an electrode was deposited on side of an AAO template by a thermal evaporation. PPy nanostructures were electrochemically polymerized into the AAO template. After the polymerization, AAO template was removed in an alkali solution. The different length of PPy nanostructure was controlled by the applied charge, polymerization time, monomer concentration, and applied voltage. Further the formation and morphology of each PPy nanostructures were monitored by SEM. The capacitive performances of the PPy nanostructure array electrode were investigated by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and galvanostatic charge/discharge test. The highly enhanced capacity performance was observed in nanostructure electrode compared with conventional capacitor of PPy film type. |
