Analysis of physical and biological properties of synthetic PLCL porous scaffold |

Biodegradable polymers are very usefull materials for the treatment of various diseases. Among them, poly-L-lactide-co-caprolactone (PLCL) is synthesized using two monomers, caprolactone and L-lactide. In this study, we fabricated three-dimensional porous PLCL scaffolds using a salt-leaching method for the use of bone substitute. The pore structure and interconnectivity of the scaffolds were analyzed using a SEM. In addition, biocompatibility of the scaffolds was examined via osteoblast cell assays. Our result demonstrated that the prepared scaffold is highly biocompatible and effectively promoted activities of osteoblasts.
