Semiconducting polymer films have been extensively studied due to their promising applications for organic electronic devices such as organic field-effect transistor (OFET), organic solar cell (OSC), organic light-emitting device (OLED), etc. This expectation is primarily ascribed to the merit of low-cost manufacturing (low temperature process) and easy fabrication of large area devices (wet process). Among various semiconducting polymers, to date, poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) exhibited the highest charge carrier mobility. This record has been attributed to the self-assembled nanostructure of P3HT chains, which is intrinsically originated from the regioregularity of the polymer. Here we present the detailed characteristics of OFET made using regioregular P3HT and its derivatives and will discuss the influence of regioregular component . |
