In this study, the poly(styrene) (PS) nanoparticles containing nifedipine were prepared by miniemulsion polymerization. The prepared the miniemulsion was characterized by conversion, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and particle size analyzer. The nifedipine's release behaviors of the nanoparticles were examined with UV/vis spectroscopy. As a result, the conversion rate was quickly shown in miniemulsion more than conventional emulsion. The high conversion of the miniemulsion over 90% was achieved in about 3 h. The spherical nanoparticles were obtained and the drug was encapsulated with PS by miniemulsion polymerization. The particle size of the nanoparticles was adjusted between 80~120 nm by homogenization and drug concentration conditions. |
