The development of future energy source for bio-micro system can be solved by biofuel cell. The main problem in the operation of common biofuel cells are non-efficient connection between active centers of enzymes and electrode surface, which results in low power density. In present study, we have describe new approach, that of integration of enzyme and nanostructured redox polymers. Polyferrocenylsilane (PFS) containing block copolymer have been employed as an electron mediator, which can help the electron transportation from enzyme to electrode surface. The electrode is assembled Tri-layer system, porous carbon, enzyme, and nano-structured organo-metallic polymers. The stability of the enzyme integrated electrode is improved by chemical cross-linking of the redox polymers so that enzyme can be successfully entrapped within the electrode. The sensitivity of modified electrode is remarkably enhanced as a result of optimization of morphology of redox polymers. |
