제목 Modification of high-density polyethylene with poly(n-butyl acrylate) segments through melt process using controlled /“living” radical polymerization technique
초록 High-density Polyethylene (HDPE) is one of the most widely used thermoplastic due to its low cost and excellent properties. However, applications of HDPE are limited because of its low functionality. In this study, HDPE was functionalized through melt-grafting reaction with poly(n-butyl acrylate) (PBA). PBA containing specific functional group for the grafting reaction was firstly synthesized through reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) technique. The grafting reaction through melt process following efficient chain transfer mechanism was carried out by using a Brabender Plastograph internal mixer. The reaction characteristics as well as structural properties of PE-graft-PBA will be discussed.
