Dielectric and Ferroelectric Properties of Nano-grained 0.5Ba(Zr0.2Ti0.8)O3-0.5(Ba0.7Ca0.3)TiO3 Thin Films by Aerosol Deposition Method |

pure BT is a ferroelectric material. However, Ba(Zr0.2Ti0.8)O3 (BZT) and (Ba0.7Ca0.3)TiO3 (BCT) ,which are doped with Zr and Ca respectively, show relaxor-ferroelectric behavior. 0.5Ba(Zr0.2Ti0.8)O3-0.5(Ba0.7Ca0.3)TiO3 [0.5BZT-0.5BCT] thin films of with a thickness of 4.5㎛ at morphotropic phase boundary, were fabricated by aerosol-deposition (AD) process. The AD film prepared using the mixed BZT-BCT powders rather than single phase (0.5BZT-0.5BCT) had a dense structure with nano-size grains. XRD results showed that the AD film had a mixed phase of BZT-BCT and crystallinity of the AD film increased with annealing. When heat-treated over 700 ℃, BZT-BCT chemically reacted to form a single phase (0.5BZT-0.5BCT). As the film was annealed, a hysteresis curve showing typical ferroelectric properties was observed. The remnant polarization and saturation polarization increased to 700 ℃. The fabrication of a high-density ceramic film, the permittivity and electrical characteristics were confirmed. |
