An electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance(EQCM) and a surface pH measurement technique have been used to study electrochemical precipitation of Ni2(OH)2 from Ni(NO3)2 solutions. Precipitation rate of Ni(OH)2 increased with the current, however, it decreased Ni(NO3)2 concentration increased from 0.1 to 2M. The effective precipitation rate of Ni(OH)2 was found to be a function of the Ni(NO3)2 concentrations rather than the current densities. Lower Surface pH at the electrode in a higher concentration of Ni(NO3)2 was attributed to the lower precipitation rate of Ni(OH)2
