Electrospinning technique uses a high-voltage to produce continuous fibers of various structures and composition with diameters ranging from a few micrometers to nanometers. The three-dimensional non-woven fiber matrix produced by electrospinning technicque possesses a large porous network structure which is highly suitable for electrode. For that, in tihs study we fabricated the inorganic manganese oxide (MnOx) nanofibers (NF) of varying composition by electrospinning technique for supercapacitor. Specifically, we prepared the electrospun fibers of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP)/manganese acetate composite by using a sol-gel processing and electrospinning technique. As-produced hybrid NFs were annealed at different temperatures, resulting in the inorganic MnOx NFs of varying compositional ratio of Mn3O4 to Mn2O3. Interestingly, the MnOx NF calcined at 500 oC demonstrated the highest electrochemical performance wiht a specific capacitance fo 360.7 F g-1 at a current density of 1 A g-1. |
