2D Siloxene-based High Performance Lithium-Polysulfide Batteries |

Lithium-sulfur batteries (LSBs) are considered the most promising alternative to the current-state-of-the-art lithium ion batteries (LIBs). Suppression of the polysulfide shuttling while maintaining high sulfur content is a significant challenge for their practical application. Here we report that 2D siloxene exhibits excellent polysulfides retaining ability owing to its unique layered structure and hydroxyl-rich surface. Lithium polysulfide batteries with the 2D siloxene achieved a high areal capacity of ~6.5mAh/cm2 after 100cycle at 0.1C and a sulfur loading of 10mg/cm2 with minor capacity loss of 0.003% per cycle. |
