Comparison of the flowrate in the microchannel with different surface characteristics |

Microchannel system has been widely studying in the biological separation system. PDMS is mostly used for the microchannel fabrication due to its several merits such as low cost, easy fabrication method and short fabrication time. But the PDMS surface is to be treated in hydrophilic to make electroosmotic flow in the microchannel. In this study we treated PDMS surface with vacuum plasma and then coated with allyl alcohol. To investigate the flow rate difference between low contact angle and high contact angle , we controlled equipment power during the plasma treatment. In the result microchannel having low contact angle shows the faster flowrate than that having high contact angle. |
