Urushiol, a major component of lacquer is known to be excellent antibacterial natural material. In case of lacquer, it can be cured well at room temperature. However, unlike lacquer, urushiol has no curing enzyme. So, it is difficult to use because it can cured. In this study, urushiol was extracted from lacquer with acetone. After diluting urushiol with turpentine oil, use three copper catalysts were used to cure urushiol using heat to make urushiol to pure clear color film. Strength of the hardened film was tested for pencil strength test, and surface shape was observed by optical microscope and scanning electron microscope(SEM). We concluded that smooth surface clear color film with excellent antibacterial natural polymer film could be used in various fields. |
