Patent is right of intellectual properties or its assignee for a limited period under an international law. The patent system is designed to grant a monopolistic and exclusive right for a certain period to those who have made their new technologies to the public, while allowing the third parties to make use of the open technologies, and thereby, help promote technological and industrial development. For effective use of patent information, patent analysis is used primarily. Patents archived in most patent databases contain a variety of information such as the publication and application data, the applicants, the inventors, and international classification number. In this paper, we propose a patent classification method for technology forecasting of the bio-zeolite using objective patent data. We will carry out a quantitative analysis in terms of the annual trend of patent applications in the field of bio-zeolite, the technological position of bio-zeolite through portfolio analysis, the share of patents by applicant, the worldwide innovation leader of major countries, and the patent trend by International Patent Classification. |
