Properties of Zeolite filled Polypropylene |

Polypropylene is a commodity polymer and has a wide acceptance for its cheap price as a composite matrix. There are many researches are going on polypropylene based nanocomposites. This time we incorporated uncoated zeolite with polypropylene and characterized all properties in the resulted composites. The composite was prepared by melt blending using a Brabender twin-screw extruder. The dispersion of zeolite in the polymer matrix is fairly good which was visualized from cryogenically fractured sample under Scanning Electron Microscopy. Mechanical properties of the composite such as modulus, impact properties are improved remarkably. The complex melt viscosity of the composite increased as a function of frequency. The successful dispersion of rare using filler in cheap matrix could be a promising material for future research. |
