Blending of two polymers usually gives rise to a new material having a better balance of properties than obtainable with a single polymer. Various techniques are available to investigate the compatibility or miscibility of polymer blends. Such methods include dynamic mechanical thermal analyzer(DMTA), differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), and scanning electron microscopy(SEM). The mechanical properties and morphology of the blends are dependent on the processing conditions, i.e. whether the samples are prepared by the melt mixing or by the speeding technique. In order to analyze of these blends, the blends were mixed up twice and the mechanical properties were measured. The blends are compatibilized during processing between side chain of EVA and EtBC, induced by the addition of butene's ratio. This reaction which occurs within the usual operating temperature range and melt time of twin screw extruders yields a copolymer which is particularly effective as an copolymer of both EVA and EtBC. We showed to change some flexibility and compatibility due to different content of Vinyl Acetate. |
