Enhanced Cellular Affinity for Ferroelectric Poly(vinylidene fluoride)/Multi-walled Carbon Nanotube Composite Scaffolds |
초록 |
Polar poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF)/multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) composites were prepared for the cell growth scaffolds. By controlling the processing conditions and the amount of MWCNT, total contents of polar beta-phase showing the ferroelectric properties was varied. All nanocomposite scaffolds induced vigorous cell metabolic activities in 7 days culture compared to a nonpolar scaffold (alpha-phase PVDF). Image saliency analysis revealed that fibroblasts on the PVDF/MWCNT nanocomposite films were more actively occurred with high beta-phase composites. Cell adhesion and proliferation measurement with MTT (Methylthiazolyldiphenyl-tetrazolium bromide) assay coincidentally responded to the amount of beta-phase in the polarized PVDF composite films. Strong correlation between the ferroelectric properties (hence the amount of beta-phase) and the cell activities (fibronectin adsorption towards the cell-nanocomposites interface) was observed. |
