Modified cyclodextrin-poly(methyl methacrylate) copolymers were prepared from modified cyclodextrin and poly(methyl methacrylate) by radical polymerization. NCO group of 2-isocyanatoethyl methacrylate(IEM) and hydroxyl group of cyclodextrin can be easily reacted. These copolymers were analyzed by means of NMR spectroscopy, Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC), IR spectra, UV-vis transmission spectra, X-Ray Diffraction(XRD), Thermogravity analysis(TGA) and Differential Scanning Calorimeter(DSC). The cyclodextrins of these copolymers showed a larger possibility of forming inclusion complex with various polymers. The copolymers were also compared with cyclodextrin/ poly(methyl methacrylate) blend. |
