Transparent glass-fabric reinforced hybrimer film (GFRHybrimer film) fabricated using sol-gel derived thermally stable siloxane hybrid material (Hybrimer) as a matrix and glass-fabric was used as a reinforcement. The hybrimer was synthesized using vinyltrimethoxysilane and diphenylsilanediol by sol-gel reaction. This hybrimer was reinforced by glass-fabric to reduce the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) and increase their flexibility. Moreover, the hybrimer is capable of controlling their refractive index which is essential characteristic to fabricate transparent GFRHybrimer film because there is refractive index differences between glass-fabric and hybrimer. As a results, this film can be strongly considered as flexible substrate films for the flexible devices because their thermal stability (Thermal decomposition at 250°C and 300°C for 6 hours in N2: 0.4 and 1.2wt% respectively), optical transparency (88%), low CTE (16ppm/°C, 25~225°C) as well as flexibility. |
