제목 Physical Properties of Wood Flour/Polyethylene/ClayComposites with Different Coupling Agent
초록 Wood flour/polyethylene (PE)/clay composites with different coupling agents were prepared respectively by melt blending followed by compression molding. Each wood flour/PE/clay composite was comprising selected conifers wood flour, PE and a type of organoclay together with a coupling agent, maleic anhydride polyethylene copolymer (MAPE). The effects of five different coupling agents on the physical properties of the composites were investigated via testing and comparing each composite respectively. The thermo-mechanical properties of the wood flour/PE/clay composite were characterized by DSC, TGA and DMA. The typical mechanical properties of the composites were measured by UTM, izod impact tester. The MAPE with a high melt flow index and low maleic anhydride contents was preferred to improve the physical properties of the composite. The backbone structure of the MAPE also affected the physical properties of the composite.
