제목 Physical properties of High-speed Melt Spun Nanocomposites of High Molecular Weight Poly(ethylene terephthalate)
초록 High molecular weight poly(ethylene terephthalate) (HMW-PET) (inherent viscosity of 1.1) and its nanocomposites with 1 wt% organoclay C12PPh-Cl- and 1 and 2 wt% trisilanolisobutyl-POSS were high-speed melt spun at various take-up velocities from 1 to 4.5 km/min, and the effects of nanoparticle type on the fiber physical properties were investigated. The physical properties of PET/clay nanocomposite fibers were quite different from those of PET/POSS nanocomposite fibers in high-speed spinning process. Organoclay showed poor dispersion in the PET matrix and large size of re-aggregation in the direction of elongational flow while POSS showed fine dispersion. Furthermore, organoclay suppressed the crystallinity of PET fiber though its heterogeneous nucleation effect is better than POSS. POSS, however, prompted crystallinity of PET fiber and the improvement of crytallinity was more noticeable with increasing loading level of POSS pariticle.
