In this work, the adsorption behaviors of nickel oxide treated activated carbons (ACs) were studied in carbon dioxide removal. The nickel oxides were loaded onto ACs by a postoxidation method including electroless nickel plating at 573 K in an air stream. The structure of the Nickel oxide treated ACs was characterized by XRD. The nickel oxides contents on the ACs were verified by XPS. The textural properties of the nickel oxide treated ACs were analyzed by N2/77 K isotherms. Carbon dioxide adsorption behaviors of the nickel oxide treated ACs was observed in the amounts of carbon dioxide adsorptions at 298 K and 1.0 atm. From the results, it was found that the nickel oxide on the ACs led to an increase in the carbon dioxide adsorption capacity of the ACs. Also as postoxidation time increased, adsorption capacity was enhanced. |
