In this work, the activated carbons (ACs) were modified by 3-aminopropyl triethoxysilane (APTES) as amine compound and theirCO2 adsorption behaviors and physicochemical properties were investigated. The surface functional groups of the APTES-modified ACs were characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The textureal properties of the APTES-modified ACs were analyzed by N2 adsorption/sesorption isotherms at 77 K.CO2 adsorption behaviors of the APTES-modified ACs was observed in the amounts ofCO2 adsorptions at 298 K and 1.0 atm. From the results, It was found that enhancement of affinity betweenCO2 molecules and surface of the APTES-modified ACs improved CO2 adsorption, indicating the effect of amine compounds onto ACs by APTES treatment. |
