Interest in biodegradable polymers increases because of concerns for growing global warming and the environmental pollution caused by disposal of non-degradable polymers. Starch is considered to be one of the most promising material due to its natural abundance, biodegradability and low cost. However, poor mechanical properties and thermal decomposition of starch make it difficult to be used for various application. This problem can be solved through blending with other polymers. Starch/PPC/PLLA blends with different composition were prepared by melt-blending and investigated with differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), UV-vis spectroscopy(UV), thermogravimetric analysis(TGA). As PLLA content increases, thermal stability of blend films become increases, transparency of blends decreases. |
