제목 Synthesis and Characterization of 4-arm Star-Shaped Polymer Poly(Methyl Methacrylate) via ARGET ATRP
초록 In this research, the synthesis of 4-arm Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) has been achieved successfully via Activators ReGenerated by Electron Transfer Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization (ARGET ATRP) with ppm level of copper (II) bromide catalyst under activation of Tin(II) Octanoate as a reducing agent at room temperature. Pentaerythritol tetrakis(2-bromoisobutyrate) was employed as efficient 4-arm initiator. The structure and molecular weight of the star-shaped polymer as well as initiator were investigated by means of FT-IR, 1H-NMR. GPC was employed to determine PDI of the star-shaped polymer. It was found that the formation of polymer brushes from the 4-arm initiator could be induced even though the catalyst amount was reduced to 20 ppm without loss of inherent control manner. The as-prepared polymer exhibited well conduct of molecular weight along with monodispersion.
